Here are the normally unseen hearts of our new Heron-i.

Like it or not, a speaker's crossover has more to do with the sound you'll get than any other single component in the chain.  The crossover's design and parts quality outweigh your choice of  cable and interconnect, even your choice of preamp, amp  and player. Sorry, it's true.

Yet this vital component is often ignored exactly because it is hidden from view!    Worse, the crossover is typically considered a good place to 'cheat' among the mass produced brands.  Who'll know....right? Who even asks?

At Meadowlark Audio we take the opposite approach.  As shown here, our crossovers are made from the very finest parts and constructed with loving care.  All wiring is point to point (as opposed to printed circuits) with the absolute minimum number of silver soldered joints.  Careful attention is paid to vibration damping: caps and coils are bedded on a layer of Keldamp, and the entire board is bedded to its isolation chamber on a layer of Keldamp.

This very expensive and labor intense way of building crossovers is out of the question for those big speaker companies where the accounting departments rule.

But, at Meadowlark Audio we are a small company dedicated to doing things right.  We'd much rather spend the bucks on building a better product than on the usual, glitzy advertising campaigns.

We build a better speaker.  Let your ears decide.
