Earlier this year an Ash tree was being
milled that stunned the sawyer. Ash is rarely curly. Ash is
rarely spalted. A log that was both was a jaw dropper! There
was barely enough to yield a small hand full of boards, which were
spending their eight weeks in the kiln when we heard of their existence.
Never mind the price, we bought them. Three boards are wide enough
for Nighthawks and Blue Heron2s. One was narrow, only enough to
make the baffles and tops for a pair of Kestrel2s. We carefully dyed ash
veneers on the sides and back to agree. Here is the one of a
kind, finished product. $2,595. If you like it, buy it.
There won't be another! |
